So here we are, rounds one and two of the DF Racing UK Travellers Series for 2018 which are to be hosted by West Lancs YC up in Southport.
We kicked off the series here last year and it was a great success with a good number of entries from all around the country.
The venue is great and boasts full facilities, including a bar. There will be lunches available on both days but please indicate whether you’ll want them so that the steward can get his catering sorted!

Rules – Racing will the governed by the rules as defined in the RRS, MYA Standard Sailing Instructions, the current HMS, Dragonforce 65 & Dragonflite 95 Class Rules.
Closing Date: 1800 Thursday 1st February 2018. After that time late entries may be accepted only at the discretion of the Organizing Authority.
Racing – This is a dual class weekend. The DF95’s will race on Saturday (Round 1 of the DF Racing UK TT Series) and DF65s will race on Sunday (Round 2 of the DF Racing UK TT Series).

Additional competitor information – The competitor shall on registration at the event provide a telephone number to be used in case of emergency.
The lake is quite exposed from the Irish Sea so we suggest you bring suitable clothing and advise that your boat should be capable of sailing in stronger winds. Sunglasses, peaked cap and sun cream are als0 recommended
Entry fee: £5 per day payable at registration on the day.
Boat Inspection – The Race Committee may at any time inspect any boat to ensure compliance with the Class Rules and random checks may be made throughout the event.

13:00 The lake will be open for practice.
16.00 The club will be closed.

Please note that vehicle access Club will be closed at approx 10:00 and reopened at approx 12:00 as there is a 10k run taking place on the main road to the Club site.

Parking – Is unrestricted and free within the club car park.
Launching – Off the flat concrete lake side; no need for boots.
Club house. Will be available to all.
Lunches-. Lunches will be available on both days on a pay as you go bases and have to be confirmed when you sign in each day.
The kitchen will be open all day Saturday and Sunday for drinks..
Please indicate how many lunches are required with your entry. These are payable at registration. Please indicate if you have any food intolerance’s.
Saturday Evening Social. A Saturday evening meal will be arranged, starting at the Bar in the Club House after racing.
Accommodation – A Premier Inn is about a 10 min walk form sailing venue. There are large number of B&B and other hotels in Southport.
There is limited on site space for motor homes. It will be first come first served – for further details please contacted Phil Lindsay, the Steward on 01704 530840. Please leave a message if asked and he will ring you back.
Please note there will be also be RC Laser racing on the Sunday. If required, separate courses will be laid as is the practice at WLYC supporting multi fleet Race Days.
