Good Luck!

I’m sure that there will be some last minute practice going on at Weecher today in preparation for this weekend’s RG65 Nationals, the forecast looks good and the entry closed last night at a creditable 29 boats which is almost ten more than last years event.

Unfortunately I am not able to attend but good luck to all those of you that are sailing, especially those entering your first Championship event. You’ll have a blast and you will learn a lot so enjoy it!

If you are in the area and fancy a look at the racing please feel free to pop along to the venue, details of how to get there are available on the Nationals page.

GOOD LUCK!

2014 Nationals Entry Closes Today

Don’t forget that the entry for the 2014 RG65 National championships closes today.

If you haven’t entered check out the current entries on the Nationals page, we are up to 29, it would be great to have 30 or more.

Currently there is a crop of 8 Development RG65’s and 21 Dragonforce 65 Restricted Class yachts.  If you fancy adding to these numbers and enjoying some excellent Yorkshire hospitality into the bargain then hotfoot it over to the Nationals page and get your entry in.

If the weather is anything like it was for the recent M Nationals held at the same venue then you really are in for a treat!

Class Documents & Dragons hit 200!

After a little delay we have now formalised the constitution for the DF65CA which is now available to view on the Class Documents page.

In other news, entries for the RG65 Nationals are coming in nicely with just over a week to go to the event.  There is still plenty of time to enter the event which has a mix of seasoned and new skippers taking part.  The venue is second to none and is well worth the journey up there if you have the chance to do so.

An finally, we have now reached over 200 DF65’s on the register.  There is a mix of current skippers and also those who are new to the sport of radio sailing.  I think that the initial flush of membership will calm down a little now but don’t forget, if you buy a boat you should register it with the Class Association so we know where all the boats are going!

Meantime, happy sailing!

Nationals 2014

The RG65 Nationals are only a few weeks away and we have now been able to publish the Notice of Race for the event.

For full details of the event, how to enter and who has already entered please head over to the Nationals 2014 page.

Entries close on the 5th June so get your entry in quickly to avoid disappointment!

Next Events

There are a few events in the offing over the next few weeks, the first is the ND Summer Series taking place on the 4th May at Fleetwood, the second is the DF65 / RG65 Open event at Watermead which also forms part of the MD series and takes place on the 18th May.  Both would be worth a visit and more details can be found by taking a trip over to the events page.

Huntingdon Event Cancelled

Please see the note below from the Huntingdon Club, hopefully they will be back up and running before too long.

“Due to the severe flooding we had in the first 3 months of this year we will have to postpone the RG65 event next Sunday the 27th April. We have only just regained access to the lake and have to make repairs to the launch area before we can host events. Keep an eye on this web site for the date of the rescheduled event.”

Dragons Hit 100!

The DF65UKCA website was launched a little over a month ago with membership of the CA being offered a few weeks later to those on the register who showed as DF65 owners.  During the latter part of this week the number of members of the DF65UKCA hit 100 which is great news for the class.  If you are a DF65 owner who has a sail number but hasn’t yet registered please use the form on the membership page to become a member.

During next week we will be in a position to send back the completed MYA affiliation document with supporting information which will see the DF65 Class become affiliated to the MYA.  This process isn’t immediate as the application needs to be ratified by the MYA council when they next sit which is on the 7th of June, but soon after that date we should become an MYA affiliated class.

As a registered owner of a DF65 we, as the DF65UKCA, would encourage you to become a member of the MYA which is the UK authority for all types of model yacht racing.

You’ll receive a short newsletter during May with more details about the MYA as well as up to date DF65 news.

Don’t forget to check the events and results pages for updates about “what’s on”

In the meantime “Happy Dragoning!”
