Small Rigs & Big Batteries Required!!

Remember that the 5th round of the DF65 Winter Series at WLYC takes place this Sunday. The forecast is looking pretty breezy with a stiff Westerly blow meaning that you might want to dig out those small rigs and make sure that they are ready for some action!

It might be a good idea to get some charge into those batteries too and maybe bring a spare one.. Just to be sure!!!

After a short delay we have now been able to publish the 2015 season events list for the DF65 Class.

There are eight National events that you can take part in as well as a plethora of club events that will also take place throughout the season.  If your club would like to turn one of your events into a National event please get in touch as we are looking for an enthusiastic club to hold an event in September sometime.  Don’t worry if your club is new to this and hasn’t staged an event like this before, we can offer advice on how to organise such an event. Get in touch if you think you can help!

We have also published a few more results from recent Winter series events that have taken place. Take a look here.

Watermead MBC Open Event

The first DF / RG open event this season is taking place on the 21st February at Watermead MBC.  With both classes taking quite a bit on momentum into the new season there should be a strong entry from both fleets.

For more details check out the poster below.

2015 results a go go!

With the first events of 2015 getting the DF season underway at various locations around the country we have started to add the event reports to the Results page. If your club has hosted an event or is running a race series and you’d like some publicity for it please send us your reports along with a photo or two and we’ll post it up for you, or even just a link to your club website if the report is on there.

Remember, there is still plenty of racing taking place around the country even though the winter is well and truly here so check out your local club and get sailing!

Sail Number Information

For those who require more info on how and where to apply your new sail number please check out the class documents page.

Essentially we follow the same procedure as the RG65 class however where they only apply the last two digits of the sail number we, as the DF65 class apply all three numbers. Appendix 4 of the RG65 rules has all the info that you’ll need.

More Registration News & More Racing!

We now have full registration capabilities once more and those who have submitted registration forms since Christmas Eve will be issued sail numbers before the weekend is out.  For those of you still wanting to register your new boat please use the form on the class documents page.

Whilst getting excited about the ND winter series at West Lancs we forgot to mention the winter series at Lincoln MYC which has its third event on Sunday, hopefully they’ll have some wind.

If you fancy getting involved in the racing please see the events page for more details.

Racing this weekend?

Time to get your DF65 ready for the first racing of the new year. You’ll no doubt be fed up with endless variations on a turkey theme so why not get yourself up to West Lancs YC on Sunday 4th January for the first of the six date Winter Series. It’ll give you a good opportunity to walk off some of those Christmas calories as well as getting your eye in for the new season.

There will be a cross border assault with skippers from Yorkshire the Midlands and Wales competing. The event is run alongside the RC Lasers with both fleets on the water at the same time making for some exciting racing and good rules observation!

Lunch is available as is a warm clubhouse! full details available on the events page.

Registration Update & Christmas Greetings!

We are now in a position to resume registrations, however to make things easier for Joanne to hand over the current database to us could we ask that anyone who has already tried to register, but has not yet received a sail number, fill in the registration form again and submit it. It will be met with an email to say that we have received your application and will process it in due course.

It is our aim to clear the backlog of registrations over the Christmas and New Year period so that anyone wanting to enter an event early next year will have a sail number.

Once again apologies for the delay in issuing numbers but rest assured that we will be back on the ball very shortly!

May we also take this opportunity to wish all DF65UKNCA members a very Merry Christmas and superb New Year and we’ll see you all pondside sometime in the 2015 season.

The DF65UKNCA Team.
