Racing this weekend?

Time to get your DF65 ready for the first racing of the new year. You’ll no doubt be fed up with endless variations on a turkey theme so why not get yourself up to West Lancs YC on Sunday 4th January for the first of the six date Winter Series. It’ll give you a good opportunity to walk off some of those Christmas calories as well as getting your eye in for the new season.

There will be a cross border assault with skippers from Yorkshire the Midlands and Wales competing. The event is run alongside the RC Lasers with both fleets on the water at the same time making for some exciting racing and good rules observation!

Lunch is available as is a warm clubhouse! full details available on the events page.

Registration Update & Christmas Greetings!

We are now in a position to resume registrations, however to make things easier for Joanne to hand over the current database to us could we ask that anyone who has already tried to register, but has not yet received a sail number, fill in the registration form again and submit it. It will be met with an email to say that we have received your application and will process it in due course.

It is our aim to clear the backlog of registrations over the Christmas and New Year period so that anyone wanting to enter an event early next year will have a sail number.

Once again apologies for the delay in issuing numbers but rest assured that we will be back on the ball very shortly!

May we also take this opportunity to wish all DF65UKNCA members a very Merry Christmas and superb New Year and we’ll see you all pondside sometime in the 2015 season.

The DF65UKNCA Team.

Registration Delays

We have had a number of people contact us recently regarding delayed applications for registrations and allocation of sail numbers.  Our registrar is currently having some health problems and we are working with her to resolve the backlog of registrations. This may take a week or two so please bear with us. We are sure that you’ll join us in wishing Joanne all the best.

Winter Series @ Lincoln MYC

We’ve had a note from the guys at Lincoln who have sent us details of their upcoming winter series which starts this Sunday. The sailing water is great with easy launching and friendly club members. If you live within an hour or so of the club you should really pop along with your boat and have a go, you’ll not regret it!

Further details are available on the Events page.

Come & Meet Us!

The MYA Trade Show & AGM is just around the corner and the DF65 team will be on hand during the morning Trade Show to help you out with any questions that you might have regarding your boat and how to set it up.

You should also stick around for the AGM which is usually only an hour or so but will give you a good insight into the workings of the MYA.

See you there!

Frozen Fingers @ Coalhouse Fort!

Having posted yesterday asking for your winter series listings we received a mail from the guys down at Coalhouse Fort who are running a four date winter series  of open meetings for the DF class. Details are available on the events page.  As I mentioned yesterday if your club is running a winter series or oopen event then please let us have the details and we’ll ping it up online for you.

A bit of housekeeping!

Nothing much to report at this time other than a few bits of admin on the site.  Windermere MYC have been unable to sail at their usual venue due to some refurbishment work and members have been sailing at Furness MBC who sail DF65’s as well as IOM’s when the water is deep enough.  Their details are on the Clubs page.

Following on from last years excellent winter series the hardy souls up at West Lancs YC in Southport are again running a post Christmas Winter series. It starts on the 4th of January and the water is splendid, the clubhouse is superb (it even has a bar) and there is usually a great meal deal to be had as well. Dates are on the events page.

The Wykeham club near Scarborough are holding a Saturday series for DF65’s which is proving popular too. Details are on their facebook page which can be accessed through the clubs page.

If your club is holding a winter series and you’d like to get it some publicity then drop us the details and we’ll post it up on the events page for you. Remember that the class is a great starting point for new radio sailing skippers, the more info there is for them to look at the more chance there is that your club will attract new members, so don’t be shy, get your event details over to us!

Talking of events we are in the latter stages of putting together our 2015 National sailing calendar which will form the basis of a National Ranking for DF65 skippers.  Confirmed events so far are Keighley, Woodspring, Lincoln and Coalhouse Fort.

If your club would like to hold an event please get in touch and we’ll do all we can to help you out.

August Events

Currently we have nothing scheduled into DF65 the calendar for August.  There is however a meeting at the end of the month at Watermead in Aylesbury, this forms part of the Midland District RG Championship and as a DF65 you’d be more than welcome to attend.

There was a DF65 event scheduled for 7th September at Poolsbrook, however the club have had to cancel this event which is a shame as the water and facilities at Poolsbrook are very good.

If your club fancies holding a DF 65 open event please get in touch with us.
