Scores on the doors to 50th. Stuck in the van now until late. Great weekend.

So we’ve had a busy day for the race team with a course reset and several alterations as the breeze clocked around and eventually petered out, well almost. Lovely weather, 5 races completed and 6A first on in the morning. Best try an early night….
Results to end of race 5 below…..I wonder who’s winning?

Plenty of skippers have pitched up and are ready for a weekend of hotly contested racing at the 2021 UK Nationals here at Poole RYC.
Might be a bit before the wind fills in sufficiently for racing to get underway but we’re sure that PRO Peter Wiles will make the best of it for us.
Evening folks, just a quick update on the upcoming DF65 and DF95 Nationals which take place at the front end and back end of September.
There is lots of preparation underway at both host clubs and the skippers that have entered are assured of a warm welcome at both clubs who have posted requests for breeze at both events. Hopefully that will be the case and we’ll have two great championships.
Haven’t entered yet? Well there is still space at both events for you and your boat. There have been a few foreign entries who have dropped out due to ongoing restrictions which is entirely understandable. For the 65’s there are a good few spots available and with two and a half weeks to go you should get yourself entered into the event. There are fewer spaces for the 95’s but if you fancy a crack at the Nationals then there is space for you and your boat here too.
So if you fancy a weekend away, either at the start or end of September then there is National Championship for you. We can guarantee that you’ll be welcomed into the fleet and given pointers and assistance along the way. What’s not to like, we’ll see you there!
For more details please check out the event pages.
So we’ve had a report from the guys up at Weecher. We’ve been sent a couple of photos, so we’ve collated it all and included the results and hey presto we’ve got our first proper event report since West Lancs in Feb 2020.
Click here to take a look at the report.
In other news we have had an updated entry list for the 95 Nationals. A couple of withdrawals, a couple of additions and all nicely wrapped up in sail number ordered tabulated format by Bob at Fleetwood. Cheers Bob.

Today on the moors the DF95 was brought out for the second round of the 2021 TT series. I guess Tushy was PRO as he isn’t on the sheet.
Congratulations to Dave Burke on a sterling performance to take the top spot on the day and Dave Darrell for a second spot finish only two points back. Peter Baldwin was a few more points behind finishing a very creditable third.
Results below for today with another 23 skippers involved.

So, the TT Series is back and it’s kicked off with some DF65 racing at Weecher. Unfortunately I didn’t make it and I haven’t had a report from anyone that was there so the reality is the results. These are posted below and at least show that 23 skippers pitched up and enjoyed 10 races up on the moors.

Looks like Derek and Tush were well ahead of the chasing pack where things were pretty tight, as they usually are!
DF95 racing tomorrow.
Just a quick note about the online entry for Rounds 1 & 2 of the 2021 TT series. It’s open on the MYA site, links from the event page.
In other news there have been exciting things happening on the International Class Association front. A week or so ago there was a meeting of the founding members of the ICA who elected Executive committee members and discussed a few bits and bobs. There is a more detailed account available on the .world website, clicky here to take a look.

A cautious approach from the DF Racing UK committee has seen an 18 month period with no organised TT events. We did try a couple of things later last year but it wasn’t to be. So we’ve held our nerve until now and are reasonably confident that we’ll be able to serve up a back half of 2021 packed with DF yacht racing. First up we’ve got an event at Weecher on the 24th and 25th July and the full details are available by clicking here.
Then we are in Poole in early September for the DF65 Nationals, followed at the back end of September by the DF95 Nationals at Fleetwood. Second weekend in October we are heading South to Eastbourne and we finish the shortened season back up North at West Lancs in early November, a firm favourite.
We’ll update event pages as we get NoR’s for the remaining events at Eastbourne and West Lancs. Fingers crossed we’ll catch you pondside before too long.
