AGM Voting Reminder

Evening folks, you may or may not have had an email this morning about the DF Racing UK AGM 2022 which is reaching it’s conclusion over the next few days. If you’ve already voted then that’s great news and well done. If you had an email with the reminder this morning and are getting ready to vote then please do so over the next 24 hours as any votes cast after 1700 on the 12th Feb 2022 will not be counted. Then there are those of you that haven’t had an email reminder, or probably any communication about the AGM at all.

Well this is entirely your own fault! Our email system is a free programme and will only accommodate 2000 emails. As an Association we now have well in excess of 2000 members and the decision was taken some time ago to remove those members from the mailing list that haven’t opened the most recent ten emails that we have sent out. So if you’re wondering why you’ve not heard from us that would be the reason.

As ever though we have a solution. If you are a member of the UK DF Racing Class Association and you haven’t yet cast your votes in this years AGM and you would like to, then please click here and you’ll be taken over to the voting form. It literally takes 2 minutes to cast your votes, we don’t need any complicated info like you inside leg measurement and we don’t need your bank details or pin number either. It’s a few clicks of the mouse.

As mentioned above voting for the AGM ends at 1700 on the 12th February 2022 so get on with it and make it count, after all it’s your Association. Once the AGM is concluded we’ll collate and publish the results on the website. Unfortunately we can’t afford Peter Snow or a big wheely type swingometer thingy

Gosport Entry Open.

Gosport MY&BC

It’s time to start thinking about getting your boats out, dusting them off, charging batteries and remembering which thumb does what! That’s right, its the start of the 2022 DF racing UK TT series and we’re off to Gosport on the 12th & 13th of March for the season opener. As usual it promises to be a great event at a club that we haven’t visited for two years or more due to the Pandemic.

Click here to take a look at the details.

The AGM buildup is continuing and as a DF Racing member you’ll get an update on the 29th January with things to vote on.

Seasons Greetings, Thank You & Welcome!

Firstly and a little belatedly, Seasons greetings to you all from the DF UK squad. We hope you can remember what day it is and we assume that you’re nearly finished with the cheeseboard! A few of you went yachting up at Fleetwood on Tuesday, it looked like a tactical day.

Secondly, a “yuge” thank you to our registrar Wayne Stobbs who, after getting involved early on to help out has decided to step down from his role with the DF UK Class Association. Wayne has been a great asset to the Class Association and brought a wealth of IT knowledge with him which helped a great deal in finding ways to do things as the Association has grown. Wayne will still be involved a little but needs to focus on a few things outside of the radio sailing world. Thank you Wayne, we wouldn’t be where we are now without your input.

And finally, a big warm DF “Welcome” to our newly co-opted registrar Jen Hand who has stepped up to take on the job of registrar for the two DF Classes. Jen has recently completed a stint as the MYA secretary and brings with her a lifetime of organisational skills which will help the UK DF Class Association continue to move forward now and in the future. Jen is standing for election at the upcoming AGM so be sure to vote her in!

Have a good New Year wherever you are, make sure you continue to stay safe and we’ll hopefully see you at the fist DF event in March at Gosport.

AGM Time Once Again

It’s that time of year once again where we need to inform you of the upcoming DF Racing UK AGM. The 2022 AGM will work to a timetable that concludes on the 12th February 2022.

Full details of how the schedule will play out are available by clicking here or clicking the AGM 2022 link on the menu above.

2022 Sailing Calendar plus Twixmas

A little later than everywhere else and I’ve found time to publish the 2022 DF Racing TT Calendar. It appears on the Events page and has all the dates in list format so you can plan your DF racing year.

In other news don’t forget the two day Twixmas regatta up at Fleetwood over the Christmas period. Come and race your DF95 on the 28th December, have a few beers at The Mount, stay at The New Boston and race your IOM on the 29th. sounds like a plan.

The New Boston is technically not open but if we can find six rooms worth of people they have said that they may well open especially for us on the 28th. If you fancy it then please get in touch and we’ll see what can be sorted.

West Lancs report

West Lancs YC, a lovely spot

Well I’d written it this morning, it took nearly an hour and then it’s gotten lost somehow. I hate technology sometimes and I’ve written a much much shorter report which is pretty crap compared to my usual work. Apologies for it but I need to crack on with real life now. Anyhow there’s some words and some pictures, check them out by clicking here.

Southport DF95 Sunday

Well, another day at Southport and another great day of racing for the 37 skippers. National champion Craig Richards took the win from a hungover Nigel Brown who had a storming day on the water. Tushy came in third.

Results below and full report to follow when I get a minute early week.

Southport is always fun!

True to form Southport and West Lancs YC have delivered us an awesome day. Varied breeze, corse changes aplenty and many great races have brought us to the end of the day. 35 skippers managed 9 races in some testing conditions for both skippers and race team.

Derek won the day with Buzz second and fleet newcomer Nick Martin in third.

Full results below.

Friday Night Feast @ West Lancs

We’ve had an email from Alan @ West Lancs YC who tells us that there is a bit of a do happening at the club on Friday evening from 1830 onwards. It’s an American evening where there will be cold beer, brisket and pumpkin pie on offer. No need to book, just turn up and get involved if you fancy it.
